Scent with Love exists to spread love through flowers around the Pittsburgh region! Our board is made of passionate and talented individuals who are driven to advance the mission of Scent with Love.
Founder - Shannon Haldeman
Flowers are often discarded after the big event and Scent with Love exists to rescue these flowers in order to brighten someone else's day. Shannon Haldeman founded Scent with Love in 2018 to address this issue, and since then, Scent with Love has brightened the days of those at over 200 unique organizations in Pittsburgh. Outside of Scent with Love, Shannon enjoys traveling the world and exploring San Diego with her Dalmatian, Tucker. Shannon is the Assistant Director of Space at University of California San Diego School of Biological Sciences.
President - Ellen Gaus
Ellen Gaus is a lifelong Pittsburgher who is passionate about contributing to community through service, as evidenced with her involvement with Scent with Love, 412 Food Rescue, Animal Friends and many other civic organizations. It was love at first sight with Scent with Love - an organization that creatively repurposes materials, highlights other nonprofits, and surprises volunteers and recipients with flowers?! What could be better?! In her professional and personal life, Ellen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in research and data organization, serving as Market Research Manager at the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.
Development Chair - Ariel DiFelice
Ariel DiFelice is a dedicated member of the Scent with Love board, bringing her passion for community engagement and innovation to the nonprofit organization. Introduced to Scent with Love in 2019 by donating her wedding flowers, Ariel's commitment to the cause was immediately ignited. Beyond her involvement with Scent with Love, Ariel is a member of the founding team at Tailorie, a female-founded technology startup, where she spearheads community-focused initiatives. Residing in northern Pittsburgh with her husband and their beloved rescue pets, Ariel embodies a spirit of philanthropy and collaborative leadership, driving positive change within both her professional endeavors and her community involvement.
